PowerShield prevents loss of production from unexpected power surges

In an industry where the highest level of quality, safety and traceability is essential, Cranberry Foods, the UK's second largest turkey producer, is dedicated to excellence.

Our processing plant in Derbyshire is a centre of excellence for whole bird production. And since refrigeration is critical to the whole process, losing compressors to the effects of unexpected power surges, as happened last year, was both affecting our production and costing us money.

Since we installed PowerShields at our main incoming supplies we are delighted that we have not suffered any problems with our vital compressors, and have been able to cope with the rapid expansion of our business.

Häfele develops and manufactures mechanical and electronic furniture fittings and architectural hardware from a £60 million site in Rugby.

This warehouse and office complex covers a 6 acre site, in which a comprehensive range of hardware is managed and made available. More than 1,200 orders are processed in the warehouse in Rugby every day, with more than 6,000 articles being despatched.

We had been suffering sporadic power surges last year, causing problems for our critical IT operation. To prevent these happening again we decided to fit PowerShield units at both incoming LV supplies to our site. Not only have these proved very effective but they also have the additional benefit of protecting the output from the 500 kVa generator which had been causing its own power surges at startup.
